SproutSipCare
SproutSipCare is a houseplant watering scheduler that tracks each plant's care history and grows a sprout streak as you keep up with it. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
SproutSipCare does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. It has no networking code and no internet permission — everything you enter stays on your device.
Information we collect
None. We operate no servers, no accounts and no sign-in. The app never asks for your email, phone number, contacts or location. Text you type into the app — a gardener display name, plant names, room labels and care notes — is written straight to the app's own local database on your device and is not sent anywhere.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, SproutSipCare stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Your plants — the name you give each plant, the species you pick, its room label, watering interval in days, pour volume in millilitres, any free-text notes, the date it was added and when it was last watered.
- Your watering log — one entry per pour, recording which plant, the date and time, the volume poured, and whether it landed on schedule.
- Your gardener profile — the display name and badge you choose, and the date you started using the app.
- Your streak and stats — current sprout streak, best streak, growth stage and the last day you were active, all derived from your own watering log.
- Your preferences — volume unit (millilitres or fluid ounces), default watering interval, whether the almanac week starts on Monday, and the reduced-motion toggle.
- A first-run flag — a single value recording that you have seen the introduction, so it is not shown again.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to SproutSipCare or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
None. SproutSipCare requests no runtime permissions at all. It does not declare the internet permission, and it does not ask for camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, storage or notification access on either Android or iOS.
Network use
SproutSipCare is fully offline. The app contains no HTTP client, no sockets and no analytics or crash-reporting endpoints, and it makes no network requests of any kind — not on first launch, not in the background, and not at any point while you use it. It works identically in airplane mode. Even its typeface is bundled inside the app rather than downloaded, so no font server ever sees a request from you.
Third-party services
No third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs are integrated. There is no Firebase, no AdMob, no Crashlytics and no in-app purchase billing. The app is built on the open-source Flutter toolkit with local-only libraries (an on-device SQLite database, charting and animation helpers). If you tap Share, your device's own share sheet opens and the text you share is handed to whichever app you choose — that app's privacy policy then applies to what you sent it.
Children's privacy
SproutSipCare is safe for all ages and is not directed at children specifically. Because the app collects nothing, transmits nothing and shows no ads, no personal information can be gathered from a child — or from anyone else. We knowingly hold no data about any user, so there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request or have deleted from our side.
Your rights
Because everything lives on your device, you are already in full control. You can edit or delete any plant, watering entry or profile detail from inside the app at any time. To erase everything at once, clear the app's storage in your device settings or uninstall the app — that removes the entire local database permanently. We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
